Heaterboxes and Air Conditioning Boxes |
|
As our name implies, Mr. Heaterbox specializes in the heater system under your dash from dash controls to vents, for standard heater and air conditioning systems, for driver to concourse restorations |
| |
NO car that has a lot of money invested in it should have an inoperable heater or air conditioner full of leaf litter, rodent mess and years worth of filth. Here's what we do:
-
The housing is washed clean and repaired to new condition and painted and sealed so to give it a "new car feeling" when in operation, no foul smell. Exterior metal parts are repainted, concourse restorations will also get all authentic markings and part number stamps put back on.
-
One of the most important parts -the heater core- is back flushed and pressure tested to ensure reliability and proper operation. Reproduction heater cores are NOT used because most do not fit well and are made of cheaper materials and construction.
-
Internal flaps are de-rusted and painted and new foam seals installed for smooth operation.
- Vacuum actuators buffed and tested. Linkages cleaned, installed and lubricatred. Vaccum operated boxes operated with a vacuum pump to test proper operatrion and adjustment.
-
Blower motors are professionally rebuilt, painted or plated, and tested through the blower resistor.
-
Reassembled with new hardware.
Mr Heaterbox's final process is what will impress you the most. We invented a device called a "Leakdown Tester" that holds the pressure in the system and can detect any leaks through fittings, valves or the heater core. If the pressure gauge doesn't budge for at least 24 hours it is considered AIRTIGHT!

Get a deal and added piece of mind and send us your dash controls with your heaterbox (especially vacuum operated ones) to be rebuilt and they will be hooked up to your heaterbox and we will operate the box remotely with the controls just like in your car. |

Heater Vent Buckets |
Cars with a heater have two vents under the dash: one at the heaterbox main vent and the other the on the driver's side. Some have a cable operated flap and others have a door, these will rust up over time and become hard to move. Send these in with a heaterbox and they will be cleaned and painted and put back together with (with new foam seals for A-bodys) using corect colours and finishes. |
